Happy Thanksgiving

Hello all,

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Today has been a great day. I started the day by preparing the turkey for its oil bath at Keith Bennet's house. My 12 pound bird was rubbed down with 1 cup of salt and 2 tablespoons of Cheyenne pepper 40 minutes before frying. The bird went into the oil at 11:00 and emerged at 11:47 at 178°F. It looked great! I was then off to Diane's house to carve it up for our meal.

Dinner was great! David and Susie joined us and everyone shared what they were thankful for this year. I thought it was important to say I am thankful for my family. This year has been a stressful year for them as they adjust to life with me working at three different places this year. We have had our ups and downs, but they have stayed with me without fail.

We played games on the Wii and watched football for most of the afternoon. This is the first year in many years I had not fallen asleep on the couch in a tryptophan coma. It must have been from the coffee I drank right before we ate dinner. The two must have cancelled each other out.

Soon it was the evening and time to head home. It had been a long day for the kids. Jennifer, Diane and Vanna were going to head over to Children's Place in Zona Rosa for the midnight sales while I took the kids home to put them to bed. I love you Jen, but you really do not need to go out in the middle of the night unless you just love doing it.

Good-night,

-Andy
