Work was filled with people who are looking for answers to their questions about continued employment. I wish that management would just come out and say what they intend to do on Friday.

Not looking forward to today

Hello all,

I have not written about this yet, but on Friday my VP announced that 52 people will be let go from my division this Friday. It is not a fun time to be at work right now. The mood is very tense right now. No one knows who it is going to be. I'll write more as the week goes on.

Today has been a day of cleaning at the house. Laundry, floors, rooms.. they all are cleaned. Ali and Zac cleaned their rooms. I vacuumed the living room and office. The house looks very nice tonight.

Hello all,

This morning Zachary and I went to Lowes to get some parts and play handyman. It seems that many of the doorstops in our house have been overcome by too many year of use. This morning, we replaced the worn out parts with new doorstops. Now our doors do not slam against the walls anymore. Good job Zac. Thank you for your help.

Vacation Day

Well, my mother came down to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge yesterday and today. She spent the night at our house last night and this morning we ate her birthday cake for breakfast. The kids enjoyed their unusual breakfast and everyone was smiling and enjoying their treat -- parents included.

Tonight David Thompson and I are helping Diane move from her old home into her new house. I'm sure it will be a tiring ordeal. Jennifer and I moved on the hottest day of the year in 2005. It would be family tradition for her mother to move on the coldest day of the winter!

It snowed again last night and the streets are covered. I was up early today and watching the news. Most of the time was dedicated to the weather and traffic updates. It is not a good day to drive right now. The road crews have not kept up with the snow.

Getting ready for the piano

Jen's mother is giving Jennifer and I her piano this weekend. We will be putting it in the office and removing the desk. I hope this makes the room more of a "room" not just a place to store stuff.

Fixing faucets

Hello all,

Today's job was to fix three dripping faucets in the house. The kitchen sink has been dripping for a few months and both sinks in the master bathroom have also developed a slow drip. This was a job for LOWES. I packed the kids into the car this morning and headed to the big toy store. I found the rubber gaskets that I needed and was on my way in 10 minutes. I had the sinks fixed and water flowing within the hour. Job done!

I will not say much about this now, but today an announcement was made that my department is looking to reduce 80 people from the staff by March 2nd. On the 16th will be my one year anniversary from being back from IBM.

Battling Bronchitis

After many trips to physicians, Alexandria was diagnosed with bronchitis. It may be pneumonia if her medication does not work in the next 24 hours. Say a prayer for my daughter. I want her to get over this soon.

103° F Fever again today

This morning at 4:30 AM my daughter called both Jen and I into her room. She was burning up again. The poor kid just can't seem to kick this virus. I am again working from home to look after her.

Well, today was one of those days where it felt good to sleep on the couch. It was bitterly cold again today. The kids played upstairs in the toy room while I took a nap on the couch. Yep, it was a lazy day for me. I think I deserved it.

Running Ali back to Children's Mercy

It was quite a day for the Scott family today. When Ali came home from school, she was running a fever of over 102 again. Jennifer ran Ali to Children's Mercy where they ran several tests. When it was all over, they said it is just the flu bug. I hope you start to feel better soon Boo.
