Fun in the rain

Hello all,

Just got home from Trick-or-Treating. Ali and Zac had a good time and made quite a haul. It is getting late and the kids need to get into bed. I'll write more tomorrow.

Trick or Treat

Hello all,

Tonight Diane, Jen, Ali, Zac and I went Trick-or-Treating at Antioc Shopping Center. It was a good dress rehersal for the kids. Unlike last year where neither kid was really into the day, both kids understood the importance of the evening - CANDY.

I used the video camera a little as well as our digital camera. I will be posting those pictures laster on tonight.

Got to go.

Friday night fun

Hello all,

Not a lot to do tonight. Jen is at her spa so the kids and I are having fun at home. We went to the park for a while, but it rained us out. Ali, Zac and I had to hide under the slide to keep out of the rain. Ali called it our umbrella. She is so smart.

Once home, we had pancakes for dinner. Zac ate three and ali ate two. I shouldn't of eaten the last three, but they were really good. Later on in the evening we watched the BeatuiControl getting started video. Why??? Because I told Ali we could watch whatever she wanted. She looked around in the video case and pulled out a tape and put it in the VCR. She watched it while I walked on the gazelle. I don't know if she was really paying attention, but if she did, I'm impressed. I know I was only listening to it from time to time. Good thing it is only a 10 minute tape!

Jen came home after another successful spa. Her business is really starting to gain momentium. She had two people agree to host a spa in December or January. Way to go Jen! You are awesome.

Well, I should get to bed. Tomorrow night is a dress rehersal for the kids at the mall.

Sitting at home, having fun

Hello all,

I'm sitting on my living room floor tonight watching TV with my wife. My kids are in bed and it is only 9:53 PM. This has been a great night. Jen has another spa tomorrow night and she is going to be out for most of the night. If the weather is nice, I'm going to take the kids to the park.

Well... I'm going to sign off. I know this post is short, but I'm a little tired.

Good night,

-Andy

Sorry Dad

Hello all,

The Boston Red Sox won the world series tonight and my dad is hating every minute of it. Sorry Dad... It just wasn't meant to be for the Red Birds this year. Maybe it is a good thing that the curse is finally over and the world can now focus on the Chicago Cubs winning it next year. Once both of these clubs are cleared from the board, maybe my Kansas City Royals will have a chance to win a ring in 2006. Maybe.. just maybe.

As for the fun of the evening, Ali, Zac and I all played tonight. We set up an obstacle course in the living room. The course was made from two laundry baskets, a couch and a chair. The laundry baskets were turned upside down and just an inch apart. Ali would lead her little brother through the course. First thing was to get on the top of the basket. From there, jump to the second basket and then to the couch. Once on the couch, slid off of it and give me a hug and start over.

The chair was used to flip Zac or Ali over my shoulder it they jumped from the second laundry basket to me. Once on the chair, they would crawl out of the chair and start the course over again. This went on for close to an hour.

Mom had another BeautiControl party last night. It went very well. All of the orders are not in yet, so I will postpone publishing how many people placed orders. I am very pleased with how well Jen's business is growing. Good job Bear! Ali, Zac and I are all proud of how hard you have worked!

OK, Jen's on her way home and I should clean up the living room.

Good night.

BeautiControl deliveries

Hello all,

Tonight Jen, Ali, Zac and I all made deliveries together. Jen had five stops to make tonight before her party tomorrow night. It was fun to ride along and listen to Ali converse with us about a variety of topics. Ali managed to turn her conversation to eating jelly beans once we go home. At least she knows what she likes.

As for Jen and I, we going to start working out at Summit Fitness now that a chill is back into the air. Hopefully we can both keep our promises to each other and go three times a week.

Good night.

Starting to feel the start of a cold coming on

Hello all,

I'm sure that you have all felt the onset of a cold coming on in your life. That is what I am feeling tonight. It may have started while I was in Iowa visiting. I was outside without a coat on. I was helping my mom put up some fence and in doing so I drove some steel posts for her. That caused me to heat up. When I stopped, I got chilled. It was just a simple act that has me stuffed up right now. I have had a few glasses of OJ and hope to get a good night's sleep.

Jen and I are watching Monday Night Football right now. The Bengals are beating the Broncos! Good thing for the KC Chiefs.

I walked for 42 minutes and walked over 2 miles. It is a start.

Good night!

Good visit with dad

Hello all,

We made it home from Iowa today. The kids and I had a good visit. Ali and Zac really enjoyed the fish pond as well as driving the lawn mowers ( with our help ). Dad had a good couple of days while we were up there. His spirits were good and enjoyed the visit. If you want to learn more about our visit, you can view his blog by clicking on Bill Scott's Blog on the left hand side.

Tonight we went out to see Jen's Uncle Jeff. He was down to Kansas City to visit with Larry and the rest of the family. We went over to her brother David's place to watch the Sunday night football game on ESPN as well as the second game of the world series.

It was a very tiring weekend. I'm sure I'll have more to write tomorrow night when I have been able to process everything that I have done.

Visiting my dad

Hello all,

Just wanted to write a quick note and let you know that I am in Iowa this weekend visiting my dad. I brought the kids up to see the family. Both Ali and Zac are looking forward to showing off the giraffe and horse costume that they will be wearing on Halloween.

I have some pictures to post, but I have not downloaded them from my camera. I'll post them when I get home.

Foundation problems

Hello all,

I am working from home today because I have another appointment with a foundation repair company. It seems that the Dicky's ( that is their real last name ) knew about one more problem in our house. The foundation is cracked and is in need of repair. I just love home ownership.

Night at Chucky-Cheese

Hello all,

Tonight the family went to Chucky-Cheese for Kirsten Martin's fourth birthday party. Ali and Zac had a great time playing on all of the games. I enjoyed the race car simulator. You know, I am truly a ten year old at heart.

After I finished my race, Ali and Zac thought they could do better. Here they are racing each other.

Look out NASCAR! Here comes the Scott kids

After dinner with our friends, it was time to go home. Jen and I watched the Red Soxs beat the Yankees and advance to the World Series. I can only imagine the party that started in Boston and will go on for the next week.

Well it is time for bed. I hope Zac sleeps tonight. It is starting to take a toll on both Jen and I.

Good night,

-Andy

Funny picture of Zac

Hello all,

There are just times in life that I love having a picture phone on my belt. Tonight when I was picking up the kids, I found my son wearing the following outfit. Take a look.

I'm cool

Lisa told me that he had been acting goofy all day. So they dressed him in some of her son's jeans and used a belt to keep them up. I thought it was too funny not to take a picture. I apologize for the grainy texture of the picture. It is just a camera phone.

IBM training

Hello all,

Today I spent most of the day in IBM training. Not a lot of fun, but at least it was informative. Tonight I watched the Red Soxs beat the Yankees and force a game seven. I hope the Red Soxs can beat them one more time and go to the World Series.

Ali has her first dental appointment tomorrow. I know she has three cavities. I hope he doesn't find more.

Happy Anniversary Jennifer

Hello all,

Today is Jen and my anniversary. Can you believe she has kept me all these years. ;) The day went fast. Sunday School in the morning. Then ran some errands this afternoon while the chiefs were playing. I watched the end of the game at Diane's house with the kids.

For dinner, Ali and Zac treated us to Mexican for our anniversary. After dinner, it was a trip back home to get ready for Jen's next Spa on Tuesday. This is going to be a busy week for my wife. She is really working her tail off to make this business grow.

We ended the night watching the Red Sox finally beat the Yankees in twelve innings. After that, we feel asleep.

Good night,

-Andy

Night out with my wife

Hello all,

Just a quick note and then off to bed. I went out tonight with my wife to a great little restaurant in Parkville named Piropos. It is off of main street in Parkville. We celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary tonight. Can you believe it? Six years ago tomorrow we were married.

How do we look?

I have been saving that picture for some time. I should burn it to a disk just in case this computer crashes sometime. Anyway, we went to dinner and then had to run home to rescue our babysitter from our children. Just kidding.. Liz is great and the kids love her.

Now it is time for bed. I hope the kids fall asleep sometime tonight. Tomorrow afternoon Jen has a Spa and I'll have the kids all night.

Good night,

-Andy

Ready for the Weekend

Hello all,

I'm am so ready for the weekend. Saturday is the Good Shepherd Community Garage Sale. Jen and I have already snatched up some chairs for the kitchen breakfast bar. We are hoping to get the kids into the habit of eating their breakfast there and leaving the table clean for dinner. Jennifer is going to have a booth at the garage sale and sell her BeautiControl line. I hope she has a few parties booked off of her booth. It would really put a smile on her face.

Saturday night I'm going to take Jen to a new restaurant in Parkville. It is named Paropos and it is supposed to be a great place to get a steak. I already know what I'm going to have. :)

Tonight is about relaxing with the kids. I'm planning on getting the basement cleaned up and letting the kids run off some energy before we put them into the bathtub for the night.

Better close...

Zac finally slept all night in his bed

Hello all,

Last night Zac slept the night in his own bed. He has developed a habit of walking into our bedroom and crawling up into our bed. Nothing is more disturbing to a good night's sleep than having little feet kick you all night long. Last night was the first night in more than a week that Zac has not been in our bed when the alarm goes off. It was refreshing to have a good night's sleep.

Weekend without the family!

Hello all! I thought since my hubby was so wonderful about keeping everyone posted on the family that I ought to do the same!

I had a good weekend although I was lonely without the kids and Andy. Friday night I hung out with mom, Katrina, Eddie & their kids. It was a great evening but seeing them with their little ones made me miss mine even more! Saturday was pretty easy going - and much needed. I got to sleep in a little bit and then met my dad out at the Woodland's to watch the horses race. Happily - I came out ahead in the end - a whole $0.40. Yipee!! Then I came home and took a nice little nap! I met some friends for dinner at IHOP - Tracie, Brent & their friends made for an entertaining evening!

Sunday was a long day, but a lot of fun! I started off teaching our Senior High Sunday school class! What an incredible group of kids I have! I am really glad that I'm not a teenager in today's world - they really do have it pretty rough! After Sunday School I went to lunch with my mom at Olive Garden - that soup, salad and breakstick meal is pretty darn good! Then I got Zac his Halloween costume - he's going to be a Giraffe! He's so cute! Finally I had my BeautiControl spa.

The spa went well! I have really enjoyed selling my BeautiControl products! I find myself actually getting excited to put on makeup which is really unlike me! It's been wonderful to meet so many interesting people and bring just a little bit of relaxation to their lives. Hopefully they have enjoyed the experience as much as I have. The business is going really well. I've had 7 or 8 spas now and still have 4 booked for the end of this month. Hopefully when things really get going I'll be able to get some bills paid off and Andy and I can consider not living in this house anymore!

Well, that's my weekend. Thankfully my family made it home safe and sound and I've really enjoyed having the added noise in the house this evening! Hope all is well with your families!!

Love,

Jennifer

Great Weekend At Home With Dad

Hello all,

It is almost ten o'clock and I'm smiling! I went up to Randolph this weekend and had a great visit with my dad. We had a lot of fun together these last three days. We watched some football on Saturday and Sunday. We also played some computer golf and solitaire.

The kids had fun on the farm. Both Ali and zag were able to drive my parent's lawn mowers. I know it is a far cry from the tractors that I grew up driving, but the smile was just the same as I had while driving when I was young.

Dad gave me his bloc entries for his site. I'll have them posted as quickly as possible.

Good night!

Getting ready to go up to Iowa again

Hello all,

Tomorrow night I will be up in Iowa visiting my parents. It will be the first time I will have seen my father since he has come home from the hospital. I am looking forward to seeing dad. I am hoping to get him to write a few more blog entries for me to post for him.

Ali and Zac will be coming up with me this time. We are planning on having a good time with Nana and Grandpa. I'm sure we will take plenty of trips out to the fish pond to look at mom's six fish swim. I am really looking forward to just being around my parents for a weekend. Maybe playing some card games or watching some home videos from when I was younger. Anything... I will do anything.

Good night,

-Andy

News from my dad

Hello all,

Earlier this year I had asked many of you to read my blog and leave feedback. At that time, my dad wanted to have a username other than anonymous for any of his comments that he left. Being the nice guy that I am, I created a blog site for him. You can find it on the left hand side of my page.

When I talked to dad tonight, I asked him if he would not mind writing a quick paragraph each day for the blog. Dad could not remember his password, so I have asked Blogger.com to help me out. If all goes well, my dad should be posting by the end of the week.

This is great news!

-Andy

Looking forward to the weekend

Hello all,

I am going on record as being officially ready for the weekend. Friday night, I am taking Ali and Zac up to Randolph to visit my parents. This will be my first trip up to Iowa in a few weeks and I am looking forward to seeing mom and dad. I'm taking the kids so that mom and dad can get some energy injected into their lives. Ten minutes with the two kids will have them up and dancing, I'm sure...

I'm also going up there with my laptop and digital camera. Maybe I can take some good pictures of the kids while on the farm. I am hoping to get a picture of my two darling children sitting in my 1969 Chevy pickup truck that is still in the machine shed at home. If all goes right, that will be Zac's one day.

Better close and get back to work.

Still waiting to hear where my team will be moved to.

Hello all,

A few days ago my team was told we will be moved off of the Sprint Campus. I have been here since 2001... wow it has been that long. It is strange to think of the campus as "home", but it has grown on me. I take a walk every day around the campus with a couple of friends. It is a little over a mile and it does us all some good to get out of the office for a while and just enjoy the day. I will miss it when we leave. I am sure there will be plenty of sidewalks to walk, but I will miss seeing the usual things that have made this campus my home away from home.

For almost a year I have been sitting in someone else's desk other than my own. I know it sounds strange, and it is. While I was on the OMS team, I lived in the testing lab. I went directly there every day and very rarely went to the fifth floor to do anything at my desk. After I was transferred back to SODS, I have been working out of someone else's desk four days a week and working out of a telecommuters cube that fifth day. So today I am sitting at my desk and looking at my pictures and remembering my kids when they were just babies. Wow... My daughter was small at one time. Zac was even smaller. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family.

The last time I was at my desk, I moved a picture that my wife took of my mom, dad and I at Arrowhead stadium a few years ago. Jen and I bought four tickets to a Chief's / Steelers game. It was my dad's first NFL game he had seen in person. I remember watching my dad's face change when he could see the field for the first time. I am sure he looked just like me when Jen brought me to my first game. That picture now stands head of all of the other pictures -- reminding me that I should never put things off for tomorrow.

Feels like Fall outside

Hello all,

Well it is getting a little chilly outside. Tonight Ali, Zac, Jennifer, Diane and I went out for dinner in Zona Rosa and took Ali and Zac to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert. Zac had strawberry and Ali had mint. They both REALLY liked their ice cream. We were going to walk around for a while, but the chill in the air started to nip at our noses.

I tested our furnace today. I want to be ready for the day we will need it. I changed the filter and I think we are ready for Old Man Winter. Does anyone want to volunteer to shovel my driveway when it snows? If so, just leave a comment.

Good night,

-Andy

Dad's favorite memories

Hello all,

Over the past few days I have been asking my dad to tell me some of his favorite memories growing up. I started it off by asking him what his favorite Christmas present. This is what he said.
My favorite present growing up was a green corduroy suit that mom and dad gave to me my Freshman year in college. It was in the style of the Beatles. I thought it looked pretty good.

Now, dad has taught me to play a lot of sports. It started with baseball followed by football and basketball. You would have thought that I would have asked my dad what position he played growing up, but I never did until now. My dad was a second basemen and then went on to play outfield and third base later in his men's league days. I am not built like my dad. I have never been fleet of foot. I would not have been a very good second baseman. I was however a good target for the infield at first base. If you could not hit a target that was 6'8", you had a problem.

I'll post more of my dad's memories as they come up in our conversations.

-Andy
