We Made It!!

Trying Very Hard

Today Jennifer and I worked the phones trying to find three more people to join our BeautiControl team. Jennifer and I would like to promote up to Unit Manager in our at home business. So far, six people have backed out.

Night at the Ball Park

Hello all,

Tonight I took Ali and Zac out to Kaufman stadium for the last game of the year. The Royals WON tonight and I had a great time with Ali and Zac. Thanks for being GREAT KIDS.

Quick Turn Around

Hello all,

Tonight I drove to work, back home and then back to Overland Park for a Spa with Jennifer. The spa was not well attended and I am very frustrated that our hostess did not cancel the spa. Jennifer and I could have used a night of not running around.

Gymnastics

Hello all,

Tonight was a struggle at gymnastics for Zac. I know that Zac is VERY competitive and does not like to not understand how to do something. I get that. Jennifer and I are working on that character trait of our son. At the same time, his teacher Mr. Mark is not very patient either. Most of the boys in Zac's class are in their second year of class at this level. Many of them know how to do the things that they are asked to do. Zac... does not. Because of this he sits out. I watch from the observation deck and watch Mr. Mark send Zac to run a lap. After his lesson, I met with Mr. Mark and spoke in private. I asked if the class was too much for Zac and if he should be dropped back a level. Mr. Mark disagreed and thought that Zac should give it another week to see if he has a better day.

I will be working with Zac on the skills that he is being asked to do. I hope that my help will allow him to stay focused on what we are asking him to do.

No Spa

Hello all,

Well, the spa did not happen tonight. Two of our guests were not going to make it and a third was not feeling well tonight. Oh well... At least we have a clean house!

Cleaning House

Hello all,

Tonight the kids helped to clean the house for tomorrow night's spa. Ali and Zac took their shoes upstairs and put their toys into the toy box downstairs. Then they helped to pick up the pillows and put them away in the living room. Ali took a turn running the vacuum while I dusted the bookcase and stairway.

After a quick cleanup, the kids changed into their swimming suits and ran around in the sprinkler in the front yard. I think today will be the last chance for swimming suites for a while. Tomorrow it is suppose to be 50° F outside! We will have to wait and see.

Chiefs Win

Hello all,

It was a great day to be out at Arrowhead! I wish the team played better... They won 13-10. It was good to see David and Susie again after the game. Jeff looked very tired and went to be early. He is driving back to Minneapolis tomorrow morning.

Uncle Jeff in Town

Hello all,

Tonight Jennifer and I went over to David and Susie's house for dinner with Uncle Jeff and his friends. While the family enjoyed a game of washers in the back yard, I took over the spatula and manned the grill. In short order, the burgers and chicken breasts were ready and the feast was on.

After dinner, we all went inside and enjoyed a spirited game of Wii bowling. Family bragging rights were on the line and everyone brought their 'A' game.

It was a great time and Jennifer and I are looking forward to the Chiefs game tomorrow.

It's Monday

What a wonderful day! My sinuses are driving me crazy today. I am sneezing all the time. I did not have this problem when I was back on the farm when I was around ALL of the farm dust. WHY do I have it now that I am in the city?

Chiefs Loss

When it rains it pours. The Chiefs looked horrible against the Bears this weekend. I know I should not let it affect me as it does. I don't mind losing. I just don't like to be embarrassed by poor play.

This will be a short, simple blog entry. I was very disappointed in the Nebraska vs. USC game tonight. I knew that Nebraska was out classed in the contest; however, I did not want to be embarrassed to be a fan of the team. Better luck next week guys.

Exhaust Gasket

Hello all,

Lyle at Randy Reed just called me about my Grand Prix. It has an exhaust gasket that is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. The fix will cost $625 and should be ready by the end of the day. I love my car. I bought this car new in January of 1998. I still remember calling Dad and talking to him about buying it. He was excited that for me and cautioned me of buying a sports car at 23 years of age. Of course, I told him everything was fine and I will be able to cover the payments with ease. I could tell he was thinking "Yeah, right", but he gave me his blessing and I bought the car. That was a proud day for me. I felt like a real adult that day as I drove off the car lot with my new car.

Check Engine Light

Hello all,

This morning on my drive into the office my check engine light came on in my 1998 Grand Prix. It is the first sign of trouble I have had with my car in a year. I'm going to get it into the auto shop tomorrow to have it looked at.

Hello all,

For the past three weeks all I have done is sit on conference calls and provide input to the group. I have very little coding opportunities these days. I wish I had more opportunity to build and create.

Day of Remembering

Hello all,

Today is the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States. As I drove into work today, the radio station I listen to played their tapes from that day. As I drove in, I listened in silence. I remember how I felt that day and how angry I was that these deranged men killed so many innocent people.

May their souls rest in peace.

Well, it is another Monday. My day will be filled with attending functional requirements calls. I do not enjoy this part of the job at all. I enjoy writing programs and making something that was just a thought into a functioning tool.

I wish I could tell you the Chiefs looked good today, but they didn't. I wish I could tell you that I did anything productive today, but I didn't. Ali had a photo shoot downtown this afternoon and did well. After she was done, Zac and I met Jen and Ali at Bravo for dinner.

Hello all,

Tonight Jennifer, Ali, Zac and I went to our friend Genna's house for bunko with friends. It is a very nice time. Everyone brings their kids and they play downstairs. We each bring a dish to share with the group. It is nice to just have grown up conversation for a night.

Hello all,

Today I spent the majority of my time on conference calls. This does not make me very happy normally. It also is very boring. On my way home from work, all I wanted was steak. So tonight Jennifer and I had 8 oz. filet and lobster tails. It was very tasty.

Tonight the chore was cleaning the house. It has been a few weeks since we have picked up our shoes and taken the toys back upstairs from where they belong. For the most part, it was successful.

Night at the Park

What a great night to go to the park! After dinner, Zac, Ali and I went to Oak Grove Park to have some fun. Zac had a lot of fun playing with one of Ali's friends from school. They played tag while I watched from the side. Ah, my kids are growing up so fast it seems. It will not be long before my kids are all grown up. I'm glad that we went to the park tonight.

Labor Day,

Hello all,

Good afternoon from the Scott house! Today Jennifer, Ali, Diane, Zac and I went to lunch at IHOP for pancakes. It was a nice change of pace for the kids. We asked them what they wanted special for them and they chose to eat breakfast for lunch! After lunch, we all went back to our house to relax. Jennifer and Diane fell asleep on the couch while the kids and I played / cleaned up the basement. We all went back to Diane's house for a Labor Day cookout.

Hello all,

Yet another week has come and gone and yet a pile of clothes sit on our floor. Is it too much to ask that clothes just not get dirty anymore? Can someone just invent that material?

Mowed Yard

Hello all,

Today was the first time I mowed my yard in four weeks. It has been so dry recently, I have not even bothered to cut it. It is REALLY brown and I am worried that it will not come back from the heat this year.
