Royals Game

Hello all,

Tonight I took Gino and Wes to the Royals game for a change. The Royals played the Rangers through to a 9-9 tie in the 9th. The Royals won in the bottom of the 9th on a wild pitch to score Willey Bloomquist. It was not a pretty win, but I'll take any win I can get this year.

Doors Measured

Hello all,

Today over my lunch hour I went home to let the contractors measure my new doors! Yes, the front and back doors will be replaced this Fall. I can't wait to have the drafty back door be GONE!

EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE WAS VACUUMED AND DUSTED TODAY. EACH BED WAS STRIPPED AND BEDDING WASHED. THE HOUSE IS CLEAN!

Simple Night at Home

Hello all,

Let's see... Not much happened tonight. The family is recovering from losing Herbie. Chance is adjusting to being alone again. Ali and Zac completed their homework at the kitchen table. Zac read three books to me after dinner. It was a simple night for sure. I plan on mowing the yard tomorrow night after dinner. Tomorrow should be simple as well.

Rest In Peace Herbie

Hello all,

At 8:27 PM, our poodle Herbie was struck by a red Pontiac Sunfire. A teen-age boy was driving the car. The accident was witnessed by several neighbors, but no-one from our family was outside to witness it. The driver was exceeding the speed limit as he approached the intersection of 78th and Wabash.

The accident took Herbie quickly. He did not suffer.

Rest in Peace Herbie. You were a great dog.

Good-bye Jamie and Ann Eyberg

Hello all,

Today at 2:00 my high-school friend Jamie Eyberg and his wife Ann were laid to rest in Coon Rapids, Iowa. Jamie and Ann were both killed in an accident at their house. Jamie was overcome while working in his well. Ann went down into the well to rescue him and was overcome with the gas herself. They left two small children.

Rest in Peace Jamie and Ann.

Tornado

Hello all,

Both Ali and Zac took cover this afternoon while a tornado went north of their school. Clay county was in a tornado warning from 1:30 - 2:30. The kids were in the hallway of Clady for an hour on their knees. Ali did not do so good. She does not like storms. She was doing much better once the all clear was given. Zac was fine the entire time. I asked if he was scared. His answer: 'No, it was cool Dad.'

After I picked the kids up, we went home and ate and prepared for Jennifer's Scentcy party. We had 8 people at our house tonight to smell all good stuff.

Great Weather Again

Hello all,

What a great night to be outside and enjoying the August weather. It was 86° F as the high for the day. This evening, I grilled chicken outside and enjoyed the fresh air. Zac and Ali played in the back yard. This is the American Dream.

Royals Games

Hello all,

It was a great night at the ballpark. The Royals beat the Indians with the help of some late inning heroics. The family did not go to the game tonight, but instead I took three friends. It was a good night at the ballpark. I could not have asked for better weather to enjoy a game. I only wish the Royals were playing for something this Fall.

Day two of school is over and Jen and I took the kids to the Royals game last night to celebrate! Well, not exactly. We went to the game because Larry and Patti-Ann were suppose to be taking Jen's Aunt Rhonda to the game. Then Rhonda's plans changed. Long story short, we went to the game to see Larry and Patti-Ann. Good news is the Royals finally WON!

This morning I golfed with Jeff's wedding party at the Mississippi National Golf Course in Red Wing, MN. Wow, what a stunning course to play. The views from the top of the cliffs were breathtaking. I wish I would have golfed better today, but I'll take the score I made.

Mowed Early This Morning

I was up and out of the house early this morning in order to get the yard mowed before the heat of the day set in. I was not the only one either. When I fired up the mower, the sound of four cycle engines already filled the air. I am happy it is done. Now I can cool down and stay in for the remains of the day.

Nothing is better than grilling a steak on a Friday evening... I love the smell of smoke from a grill and the sound of baseball game on the radio. I just wish the Royals had a winning team!

Ali and Zac went to a pool party at the Nance house tonight while Jen attended at PTA meeting for Clardy Elementary. I will say that Ali and Zac had a better time tonight! It was more fun in the pool for sure!

I am in Information Engineering today. It is a mandatory class at DST. It is eight hours of lecture. We only had two classroom exercises today which made the day VERY long. I know remember why I did not go back to get my Masters.

This afternoon we took the kids to Oceans of Fun. It was a HOT day. We were only there for a few hours. The family had fun playing in the water. No one was out in the sun too long. It was a successful day.
