Getting ready to work

Hello all,

It is that time of year where all of the projects that have been on the books in concept are now being converted into actual development work. The time for calls and documents is soon to be over. The days of getting down to business and making something out of nothing are soon to be here. It is a lot like Spring on the farm. You start with an empty field and do your best to make everything right to have a good harvest. Well... at least it is an example... I don't know if it truly works or not... I'm rambling.

Raking the yard

Hello all,

This afternoon I raked the back yard and mulched the leaves before putting them into bags. I have had the leave blower/mulcher for five years and it is showing its age. The housing is starting to crack and the engine is losing power. It is almost time to trade it in for a new model at Home Depot.

Long six hours

Hello all,

What a trip! We made it up to Iowa and back today to see baby Brook and baby Madeleine. We all gathered out at Danna and Kevin's house for the afternoon. Danna and Kevin look very tired and are adjusting to life with a newborn. Nic, Kirk and Dade are also adjusting to life with a new addition as well. Jennifer and I brought the kids gifts from KC. The girls have cute clothes (everyone loves cute clothes) and Dade has a new truck to play with.

Before we headed back to KC, we went to Don and Millie's for a burger and chocolate shake. We were soon on our way across the Bellview bridge. The kids were asleep by 9:00 and we pulled into the house by 11:00.

1st Day of Training

Today is the first day of training for a new tool that is being implemented at Embarq. It is too secret to say the name, but let me tell you it was boring to watch the demonstrations! At least there was hot coffee to keep us going this afternoon.

I am working from home today. I have both kiddo's and they are loving having Dad looking after them today. So far there have only been a couple of situations where they have been put in time out. Not too bad for being couped up in this house all day long.

It is Wednesday! That means the work week is half over. This has been a busy morning with project calls. I wish the company would only have one project going at a time.

Zac's Gymnastics

Hello all,

Tonight was another session for Zac's gymnastics. He did a good job. I could tell the pieces and activities that he did not want to work with. I talked to Mr. Richard after class and he let me know that Zac is doing just fine. Jennifer and I need to continue to work with him on the activities he does not like to do, like hand stands.

St. Patrick's Day

Hello all,

Today is the day that all of the world celebrates being Irish. Jennifer and I went to work instead of going downtown for the parade. I think we were one of the few people that did not take their kids downtown to freeze in the cold rain.

Cleaning House

Hello all,

Today we had the kids clean there rooms and vaccume. It was good to see them working together to make their rooms look better. I hope they can keep them clean over night.

Spa

Hello all,

Today we had a spa in Overland Park and it went kinda well. There were 12 people confirmed, but only 5 people showed up. I had a feeling that the spa was going to be more fizzle than sizzle and I was right. Our sales were light and I hope that our hostess does not get too discouraged by the results. I am looking forward to our next spa later this month.

First Scott Team Meeting

Hello all,

Today marked the first Scott Team meeting at our house. We had four of our consultants with us today. Jennifer has the flu so I led the meeting. We went over why each of us joined the company and what products we like the most. I gave the girls a prize for doing our challenge which was to complete a stress test. Everyone had a good time. I hope that Jennifer is not ill next month!

Hello all,

Today Jennifer and I did the first spa where we focused on the core products of BeautiControl and it went GREAT! It was our best spa in over a year. We had 8 people there and it will not close until the 10th. I am very proud of Jennifer. She rocks!

Mixed Feelings

Hello all,

I would be remiss without saying I miss you Dad. You were taken from us three years ago today. I hope that Heaven is all that I have dreamed it being. I know you have dropped in on me from time to time. Thank you for doing that. I still need you and miss you.

I had my interview today. I am qualified for the position, but can not get it due to restrictions with my current position. It is a long story, but I have a plan of action to take. I'll keep you posted as events unfold.

Ali's Gymnastics

Tonight I took both kids to Gymnastics tonight. Jennifer had a BC meeting in Overland Park tonight so I had both kids. I'm pretty tired right now, but I'll live.

Not a lot to talk about tonight. Zac had a great gymnastics class. After class, we had pancakes at home with lots of maple syrup. The kids just love my pancakes.

Hello all,

It was hard to drive into the office this morning after the long day traveling home yesterday. Next time Jennifer and I will take a direct flight from Dallas to KCI. Going through Milwaukee made for a long day.
